Blair Russell 

Blair Russell, PhD, is a Senior Research Analyst with the Center for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis. He joined the Washington University in 2013 after completing his doctorate in Public Policy at The Ohio State University. During his graduate training, he gained real-world policy experience through research internships with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency and the Ohio Department of Education. His research interests center on quantitative policy analysis and program evaluation across a number of substantive areas, including asset building, housing, economic development, and education. His research has been published in scholarly journals including the Journal of Housing Economics and Economic Development Quarterly. 

Craig Gunderson

Craig Gundersen is the Soybean Industry Endowed Professor in Agricultural Strategy in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois and Executive Director of the National Soybean Research Laboratory. He is also a member of the Technical Advisory Group of Feeding America and is the lead researcher on the Map the Meal Gap project.  Previously, he was at the Economic Research Service of the USDA and at Iowa State University.  Gundersen's research is primarily focused on the causes and consequences of food insecurity and on evaluations of food assistance programs. Among other journals, he has published in Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Econometrics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Nutrition, Pediatrics, Demography, Obesity Reviews, Journal of the American Dietetic Association, and American Journal of Public Health.  His work has been supported by over $10 million in external funding from various government and non-government sources including, among other sources, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Institutes of Food and Agriculture (NIFA); National Foundation to End Senior Hunger (NFESH); ConAgra Foods Foundation; Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR); AARP Foundation; American Beverage Association; US Agency for International Development (USAID); Walmart Foundation; USDA, Economic Research Service (ERS); Merck Foundation; Urban Institute; and USDA, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).

 

 Michael Gutter

Michael Gutter, PhD,is an Associate Professor, Interim FCS Program Leader, and Financial Management State Specialist for the Department of Family, Youth, and Community Sciences, in the Institute for Food and Agricultural at the University of Florida. His BS is in Family Financial Management and his PhD is in Family Resource Management from The Ohio State University with a specialization in Finance. Gutter has received several awards including the 1999 Texas Instruments Award for an Outstanding Paper, 2001 ACCI Dissertation Award, 2003 School of Human Ecology Excellence in Outreach Service Award, and the 2008 American Council on Consumer Interests Mid-Career Award.
