Membership Types

Professional Membership ($125)

  • These are persons, not enrolled in a degree-granting program, who are working full- or part-time.
  • The professional could be working for government, non-governmental organizations, a university or a business. 
  • Voting rights
  • Hard copy of Journal of Consumer Affairs (upon request) as well as digital access to all volumes and issues

Student ($25)

  • Any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree-seeking program. Post-docs qualify
  • Voting rights
  • Digital access to all volumes and issues of the Journal of Consumer Affairs

Retiree ($55)

  • Any person fully retired and not working full- or part-time in the field. Retired persons now working as a consultant should please use the professional membership category. Please use your thoughtful judgement. 
  • Voting rights
  • Hard copy of the Journal of Consumer Affairs (upon request) as well as digital access to all volumes and issues

  • Three professional memberships with voting rights
  • Up to 25 student associate memberships at no extra charge and with no voting rights
  • Digital access to all volumes and issues of the Journal of Consumer Affairs
  • One hard copy of the journal will be mailed to the organization's contact person/member
  • Two free job announcements annually, and up to four more at 50% discount ($50 each rather than $100 each)
