If you are presenting an Oral Concurrent Session
  • These are the traditional oral sessions as in past ACCI conferences. There are multiple presentations during each time frame.
  • There are three rooms with presentations taking place concurrently.
  • Each room has a topic, and a moderator who will keep you on time.
  • About fifteen (15) minutes is reserved at the end of each time period for discussion across all presentations. Please don't ask for questions at the end of your time, as it may decrease the presentation time for subsequent presenters. The moderator will manage the discussion. (In one session, this request has been changed due to unforeseen travel challenges of a presenter)
  • If there are three presentations during the 90 minutes - 15 minutes, that allows 75 minutes or 25 minutes for each of the three presentations, including very quick introductions.
  • If there are four presentations during the 90 minutes - 15 minutes, that allows about 18 minutes for each of the four presentations, including very quick introductions.
  • Internet is complimentary in all the meeting space. However, please let Julia Eastby, Administrative Assistant know if you intend to use internet. If we have too many online at once, we want to ensure we have enough bandwidth. You should always have a backup plan to present in case something is not working with live internet. Julia's direct phone number is 727-940-2658.
  • What AV wil be in the room? Each room will have a screen, projector, cart, and connectors for you to use your own computer for the presentation.
    • Please also bring your presentation on a thumb drive as a backup. Often you can collaborate with the other speakers in your session to use one computer and just load the presentations onto the one desktop for swift change from one to another.
    • If you are a Mac user, we have some connectors, but please bring your own dongles.
    • Some breakout rooms wil have microphones. If they do, kindly use them so that the audience can hear you better.

If you are presenting a Featured Research Session (all take place in Island 2 room)

  • NEW! You will have one minute (60-seconds) to give a brief description of your poster at a general session. Please prepare this short introduction ahead of time and practice it so that you can actually do this in 60-seconds. Start with I am (your name) and I am from (organization/institution). Do NOT list all authors at this time. State your poster title. Describe what it is about. We will time you!
  • What size is the poster board? The Boards are 6 x 8 and this year you may use the whole space. There is a photo of what the boards look like, below.
  • Where do I find my poster number?
    • Look in the agenda or in the App for your poster number. Poster Boards will have numbers on them, in sequential order, so that other attendees can find your poster easily. Only put your poster up on the board that has your assigned number!
  • There are three FRS sessions.
    • FRS I (poster numbers 101-116): Present your one minute at the end of the General Session on Wednesday. That session is from 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm. Please sit up front. Pin up your poster on Thursday morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. Your session is from 8:00 am - 8:50 am and you are expected to stand by your poster during that time and discuss it with other attendees. Take down your poster at the beginning of lunch or at 12:00 noon. All posters need to be removed no later than 12:30 pm so that the next presenters can put up their posters.
    • FRS II (poster numbers 201-216): Present your one minute at the end of the General Session on Thursday from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Please sit up front. Pin up your poster on Thursday during lunch which is from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm. Your session is from 4:35 pm to 5:35 pm. Take down you posters promptly at 5:35 pm.
    • FRS III (poster numbers 301 - 316): Present your one minute at the end of the General Session from 8:00 am - 8:45 am on Friday morning. Please sit up front. Pin your poster on Friday morning between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. Your session is scheduled from 8:45 am to 9:45 am and breakfast will be in this room at that time. Please remove your poster before 11:00 am when the poster-provider will arrive to dismantle the poster boards.
  • The poster may be a maximum 4 feet high (1.22 m) by 8 feet wide (2.44 m) as this is the dimension of the board on which you will pin your poster.
  • We will provide pins to pin up your poster.
  • As there will not be electricity or a table space, please do not bring a computer. Tablets are okay, but the focus and main points should be on your poster.
  • We will provide small "pockets" for you to place business cards which others can take to contact you later.
  • It is requested that you use this ACCI logo and the URL, www.consumerinterests.org, near the logo on your poster. This should be the same size as the University or Organization logo on your poster. Download a high resolution logo image here
  • It is suggested that you hand-carry your poster with you to the conference.
  • This is what the poster board will look like:
