The Student/Young Professional Conference Scholarship Award

ACCI student and young professional members are not only the future leaders in the field of consumer affairs, they are the lifeblood of ACCI, which is committed to enhancing economic and consumer well-being.  ACCI leadership helps students and young professionals enhance their professional development by supporting their participation through ACCI conference scholarships. Students must be enrolled in a masters or doctoral program. Young professionals are defined as someone in the first two years of professional work in the field of consumer well-being; post-docs are included in this definition. Undergraduate students are not eligible for this award, but are invited to work with their advisors in the Undergraduate Student Poster Competition. 

These travel scholarships include a waiver of conference registration fee and a stipend, currently $300, to support travel expenses to attend the annual ACCI conference. The number of available scholarships varies by year. Recently there have been as many as 15 scholarships offered.

Students and young professionals get an invaluable opportunity to meet fellow students and young professionals, as well as meet and interact with experienced professionals from a wide variety of universities and organizations interested in consumer research and related issues. These contacts, through ACCI support the recipient's future successes. 

ACCI membership is required to apply for a Student / Young Professional Conference Scholarship Award. Applicants should be committed to the field of consumer well-being and be considering it as their life's work. ACCI is home to those who work in this field and the opportunity to attend, meet important contacts, get genuine and constructive help with ongoing projects you present here, should encourage you to long-term membership and the opportunity to become an ACCI volunteer to move our field forward.
